This very nice specimen consisting of thick books of almost black biotite and semi-gemmy apatite in calcite was collected at the Silver Crater Mine near Bancroft in Ontario, Canada. The dimensions of the specimen are 9-1/2’ wide by ½” thick with a weight of 1-1/2 pounds. This is a great example of Bancroft area biotite from a hard-to-get-to mine. The dimensions of the specimen are 7” long by 7" thick by 6” tall with a weight of 10-1/2 pounds.
