Sunday was more of the same - only better! Jeff and Bill with help from Thomas found some fluorite lined pockets in the clay that was just at or above the water table.

Upon initial cleaning, the fluorite in these limestone pockets appeared to be very shiny, not at all etched and dull like some that we had previously recovered from beneath the water table. There was real excitement in the air as one killer specimen after another was pulled out that morning and afternoon.

Everett and James had to leave by early afternoon, so we quit digging and did the picking and packing thing again. EVERYBODY was HAPPY!!!!!!!!! After that, Bill, Jeff, Thomas and I, spent a couple more hours happily pulling out more stuff. We finally decided to call it quits by around 3:30 PM. We cleaned up as best we could, including the equipment and pump hoses before saddling up for our LONG rides home! Before we left, Bill Frazer stopped by to say goodbye and this allowed us to thank him and to present him with a very large chunk of cash for the MANY extra buckets that we had recovered. We were only too glad to be able to contribute to the museum's cause, while having one of the best times of our lives! Oh, did I mention that we found some good stuff? The following pictures show some of what I was fortunate enough to bring home
