While Tucson is a ton of work and 100% relentless, there are moments when I do get out and I do get to have some fun. Party's are a big hit here like everywhere else, and are very much appreciated and anticipated. I attended four this year and at each, I had a spectacular time. King of these affairs, was Danny's party over at his Fine Mineral International business. Jesse and Joan also had a terrific little get-together (wonderfully featuring Jesse's home-brewed beer), in their room here at the hotel, while Peter and Allison, and Ken and Rosemary, had excellent and exceptional home-style get-togethers. At each, I had a fantastic time.

As the days flew by, the Main Show of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society was rapidly approaching. More than usual, I was excited about this year's show. This year, I was going to display a case of my favorite self-collected golden calcites from Montana (see Tucson 2010 and My Display at the TGMS Show).

When the big day of the Main Show's opening finally arrived, I closed the room and like everyone else, I made my way over to see the magnificence! It was a spectacular show. The theme for this year's show was Gems and Gem Minerals and as such, we were all assured of a enchanting experience. The dealers and their displays, the actual displays, everywhere one looked, the world of minerals surrounded. Diamonds from Arkansas, Tourmaline's from the World around. Emerald's from Namibia and on and on and on. I love this excess! Truly, as enthusiasts, we are blessed to have these opportunities!

For your viewing pleasure, here is a selection of treasures I enjoyed at the show...

With the Main Show running its course, Tucson was winding down. My show closed on a Saturday and the Main Show closed the next day. On Monday, I checked out of my room and was soon speeding away, back to the real world...

... or more appropriately, to my next adventure!

Thanks so much for coming along everyone, all the very best,

John
